Overtorque (overload) may occur in the main engine of a ship over time. When this occurs, engine exhaust temperature rises and fuel consumption increases. Edge modification is recommended to eliminate overtorque.
Efficiency and cavitation will not be negatively affected.
Edge modification can be performed with the propeller attached to the shaft when the ship is in dry-dock.
After edge modification, engine load is reduced because engine rpm increases, improving operation performance.
